Kristal Harman - biography
Kristal Harman is a traditional musician from the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. As a recent graduate with her B.S. degree from the Bluegrass, Old-Time and Country Music studies program at East Tennessee State University, she studied traditional music of the Ozark and Appalachian regions. Her influences include a wide variety of blues, string-band, and country music selections. Major inspirations include Arkansas balladeer Ollie Gilbert, the Skillet Lickers, and the Carter Family. Notable accomplishments include playing on PBS’s Song of the Mountains as well as having the honor to represent America as part of a string band for the 49th annual Billingham International Folk Dance Festival in Billingham, England during the summer of 2013.
